Hmm.
i. Winter Conference was amazing.
From all my previous C4C events, this year I think had the best worship, leaving me singing happily for last two days.
The Carleton fellowship was really tight.
It had by far the best women's speaker. I loved how it was a talk on Philippians 3, not a discussion on encouraging your future husbands, or anything other than a passage of scripture. Uhh…I am picky.
I liked being told being called to Campus Ministry is no different from being called with to office work (or a similar occupation), and that if you are called, it shouldn't matter how long to raise support, you have still been left with that calling. I promptly told this to my mom when I got home. She didn't really buy it, but I have, which is more important.
I loved the solid C4C women I had an opportunity to hear, the main thing I am left excited about was having observed and learned from Christ-centred women. I remember Janette Dorkson? expressing how to love by faith in a really eloquent manner, learning from Lorrie Armstrong about the necessity of effort being put into memorizing the Word as it won't just happen by accident, benefiting from Kristen Alm explaining how knowing God is of the utmost importance, and Ginny's effectiveness in having an application point in her talk on community. These events made me excited to read and meditate on the scripture so much more, so that hopefully someday my attitudes/actions/demeanour will also reflect Christ like them.
ii. Something I have been pondering on for awhile. At OCBC a month ago, my pastor was talking about the curses resulting from the fall, and how women will always be hurt by relationships because of it, they won't be completely satisfied by them. I have been thinking about this a lot since hearing it, and I kind of feel blessed by it, recognizing that I won't find my ultimate satisfaction in those I know and care about, but instead the only one who will never disappoint me will be Christ, and in Him alone I will be complete. I am a fan of having heard this as it means, that most likely, everyday I will be pointed back to my King. Very happy about this constant reminder.
iii. I really like cheesecake.

You also sang in the shower throughout the week. The acoustics were excellent.

Janette DOERKSEN - that's humourous, since i recall her saying kids used to call her janet dorksen back in grade school
KIRSTEN Alm - she once promptly corrected me when i mispronounced her name. I was much closer than you
LAURIE Armstrong
B)
What songs did she sing, Monica?
haha, it's funny, because being involved in worship this year, and coughing my lungs out, in the process, made me feel so inadequate....
