I learned this week that approximately 40% of cocoa beans have been harvested through slave trade. I haven't come to a conclusion on how to respond to this, as boycotting chocolate according to my prof and different websites is apparently the wrong way to addess this problem. However, it feels wrong to eat something that has been potentially has been produced through children's labour. hmpf.
